MICHIKAZU KOJIMA
Senior Advisor
Michikazu Kojima is an economist specialising in environmental policies, especially waste management and recycling in Asian countries. While currently serving as a Senior Advisor on Environmental issues at ERIA, since 2015 he has also been Chief Senior Researcher at the Institute of Developing Economies (IDE) under Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). He has long been actively engaged in the field of international cooperation and also serves as a member of the Expert Working Group on Environmentally Sound Management under the Basel Convention and the Technical Expert Committee for Green Industry Platform by UNIDO, and is a course leader of JICA training courses on recycling policy. He has a Master of Science degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Research Associate
Ellen Putri Edita has joined ERIA since September 2019. As a Research Associate, she is currently involved in research on Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris in ASEAN Plus Three countries.
Prior to joining ERIA, Ellen has an experience to be an individual consultant for Ministry of Transportation, Republic of Indonesia, where she had responsibilities to calculate emission reduction from mitigation actions and create an energy modelling from transportation sector.
Ellen holds a Master of Science in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science at Lund University, Sweden. During her master’s degree, she and her team had a chance to create travel policy suggestion for Malmo Municipality due to the fact that a large portion of carbon emissions from the this municipality comes from business travels. Besides academic activities, Ellen was a co-founder of a start-up called “Super Tempe” which serves as an alternative sustainable food in Sweden.

Communication Expert
Hera Diani joined the Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris (RKC-MPD) in ERIA in 2021 as Communication Expert. She is a seasoned communications consultant, specializing in sustainable development and public health campaigns for non-profits and multilateral agencies. She has 22 years of experience in journalism, working at different national and international publications. Hera is the Co-founder of Magdalene.co, a Jakarta-based magazine focusing on gender issues.
AYAKO MIZUNO
AYAKO MIZUNO
Programme Manager
Ayako Mizuno is a programme manager working at the Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris (RKC-MPD) in ERIA since November 2020. She is seconded from the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) where she is a programme manager at Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Area. Previously, she held positions in the international development field as part of bilateral and multilateral cooperation for over 12 years in North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean.
