The overall objectives of Project are enhancing regional collaborative research and capacity building in the fisheries sector including the application of scientific knowledge of regional policies as well as monitoring the four priority areas of the “ASEAN Framework of Action on Marine Debris.” Currently, the project is in the process of adjusting the implementation plan and expenditure at no additional cost, and it is expected that the project activities will commence in 2023.

The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1967. It includes 11 Member Countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. SEAFDEC operates from its Secretariat in Thailand and comprises five Technical Departments: Training, Marine Fisheries Research, Aquaculture, Marine Fishery Resources Development and Management, and Inland Fishery Resources Development and Management.
