We collaborated with several partners in organizing Beach Clean-Up:
· Beach Clean-up at Pulau Jemuruk & Pulau Pasir, Kubang Badak for World Environment Day (6 June 2023) 49 participants in total from The Datai Langkawi and The Datai Pledge, PPL UKM, LADA, E-Idaman, Kubang Badak Fishermen Community, PHDL, FLAG, and Dream Forest collected 800kg of trash and transferred it to Kilim Landfill.
· International Coastal Clean-Up Day at Pulau Langgun with Marecet 2023 (19 September 2023) A total of 14 people collected trash from Pulau Langgun, Langkawi, for over 3.5 hours. We collected 58 bags of trash, with the top items accumulated being 2307 plastic beverage bottles and 1364 pieces of styrofoam. The total weight of everything collected amounted to 294.1 kg.
· International Coastal Clean-Up Day at Datai Bay 2023 (20 September 2023) We collected approximately 250kg of garbage, packed up in 15 tarpaulin bags, not including big ropes, ghost nets and fridge door.
· King's Landing Clean-up (12 October 2023) 32 participants were involved and 596kg of marine debris was collected including 172 kg of ghost nets. 2 fishermen boats, sponsored by the Fish For The Future (FFTF) pillar of The Datai Pledge, were mobilised for trash and participants' transportation. Trash was sent to the Pure Centre at The Datai Langkawi for segregation. |
