Laos’ waste generation is increasing in line with the country’s rapid economic and population growth. This applies to medical and industrial wastes, which are more difficult than household waste to manage.
To address this, Lao Kayama introduced Japanese waste management system and technologies, and started operations by establishing appropriate sorting, transportation, and waste management by incineration. Lao Kayama also provides industrial, hazardous, chemical waste, and e-waste transportation as well as disposal services with improved plastic waste management, among others.
By separating the plastic waste and crushing it before processing it into Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) for the cement factory, we developed WASTE MANIFEST (manifest) which is used to track the waste transport and disposal with the Environmental Management Academic Center (EMAC) of the University of Laos and Savan EMC Co., Ltd. (SEMC). This system can be used when applying for environmental audits, such as ISO, IFC, and others. It can also help to improve the separation, collection, and adequate medical as well as industrial waste management in Laos, which will in turn improve the plastic recycling and circularity of non-medical plastic waste.
