8th Seminar of Private Sector Initiative Seminar Series

The private sector in ASEAN+3 countries plays a significant role in reducing plastic waste and marine debris in the region. Their efforts span from production and consumption to recycling and waste management. One of the missions of the Regional Knowledge Centre is to promote the private sector’s innovative actions to counter plastic pollution.

Supported by Singapore Environment Council, ERIA will delve into the private sector's initiatives to promote plastic circularity and sustainable packaging in the country. With a focus on new laws and regulations, including EPR schemes for plastics, the webinar will explore how private companies are contributing to plastic waste reduction in Singapore.

This event aims to:

  1. Increase awareness of the marine plastic debris issue in ASEAN+3 and assess progress.

  2. Showcase innovative business practices by leading Singaporean companies to enhance plastic circularity and reduce waste, especially within EPR programs, along with associated challenges and opportunities.
