[Invitation Only] ERIA’s Regional Knowledge Center for Marine Plastic debris is organizing a workshop to gather the authors of the ASEAN Plastic Book Project. Scheduled for 24 September 2025 in Hanoi, Viet Nam, the workshop aims to review, discuss, and finalise the draft of the ASEAN Plastic Book.
The ASEAN Plastic Book Project, initiated by the Regional Knowledge Centre is a collaborative work by experts from ASEAN+3 countries to publish a handbook for academia, policymakers and other stakeholders whose research and works are related to plastic pollution, in the ASEAN+3 region.
The objectives of this project are:
Dissemination of understanding that ASEAN+3 is a hotspot of plastic pollution and what kind of measures are needed or already taken for those who want to understand plastic pollution measures in ASEAN+3 better.
Provision of a good reference for academia and policy makers from emerging economies elsewhere (i.e. beyond ASEAN+3) to learn about policy measures in the context of emerging economies.
The completed draft is scheduled to be reviewed by the ERIA-IGES Expert Working Group (EWG) during the 9th EWG meeting in Hanoi, Viet Nam, on 25-26 September 2025.
