The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), a not-for-profit policy research institute in Japan, has launched a project to test the effectiveness of behavioural insights to reduce the use and waste of single-use plastics in cities and communities. The project is funded by and conducted in close collaboration with ERIA's Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris (the Centre)).
The project plans to develop practical knowledge on applying behavioural insights in concrete settings and provide an easy to use toolkit for local governments, businesses, and schools to apply the knowledge. The project calls for implementing partners from Asian countries to plan, implement, and monitor pilot projects in collaboration with IGES.
Duration of Call: Open from the date of announcement to 30 November 2022.
Duration of Eligible Pilot Projects: Up to six months during the period from 1 January 2023 to 31 August 2023.
Eligibility: The call is open to organisations based in Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Viet Nam, and Japan. This includes local, regional, or national governmental institutions/agencies (or subsidiary bodies), companies, and not-for-profit organisations (including educational or research institutes).
